Dr Hiya Boro is a specialist in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism with 13 years of overall medical experience. She completed her MBBS from Gauhati Medical College, India (2006-2011), an MD in Internal Medicine from Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi (2012-2015), and a DM in Endocrinology from the prestigious AIIMS, New Delhi (January 2017-December 2019).

Dr Hiya has had an outstanding academic career, receiving accolades such as
• the Best MBBS Graduate Award from Gauhati Medical College in 2011,
• a gold medal in Internal Medicine in MBBS from Gauhati Medical College in 2011,
• All India rank 1 in DM Endocrinology entrance exams at AIIMS, New Delhi in 2016,
• the Dr. MMS Ahuja Award for the best outgoing resident in Endocrinology from AIIMS, New Delhi in 2019,
• the Endocrine Society of India Best Thesis Award in Bone and Mineral Metabolism in 2019,
• Best Poster Presentation at Endocrine Week in 2020,
• Best Oral Paper Presentation at SPEEDCON in New Delhi in 2022, and Best Oral Paper and Poster Presentations at KENDOCON in Kochi in 2022.

Additionally, she received the Best Consultant Award from Aadhar Health Institute in Hisar in 2023.

Dr Hiya has been awarded the specialty certificate in Endocrinology from the Royal College of Physicians, the United Kingdom. She has also cleared the MRCP Medicine Part 1 and Part 2 exams. With over 40 publications in various international journals of repute, including Lancet Diabetes and Endocrinology, Clinical Endocrinology, Journal of Diabetes Investigations, Osteoporosis and Sarcopenia, Endotext, Touch Reviews in Endocrinology, BMJ Case Reports, Indian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism, Acta Endocrinologica, and the Indian Journal of Medical Research, her notable publications include:

Before relocating to the UAE, she worked as a consultant and Head of the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism at a high-volume tertiary care private hospital in Haryana, India.
