Dr Jose Mathew is a dedicated Consultant Gastroenterologist with over 18 years of experience in the field of medicine. He excels in diagnosing, managing, and delivering comprehensive patient care for a range of gastrointestinal disorders. After obtaining his MBBS, he completed his MD in Internal Medicine at Government Medical College, Trivandrum, and subsequently acquired his DM in Gastroenterology from the same institution. He has received specialized training in advanced endoscopy and ERCP from ANSH Clinic. He also holds additional qualifications, including DNB (Diplomate of National Board), MNAMS (National Academy of Medical Sciences India), and MRCP (UK) (Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom).

Dr Jose is proficient in managing various gastrointestinal disorders such as dyspepsia, indigestion, acid reflux disorders, GERD, altered bowel habits, constipation, and diarrhea. He is also skilled in handling liver-related disorders like fatty liver disease and viral hepatitis, as well as diagnosing and managing cirrhosis of the liver and its complications, including bleeding, hematemesis, ascites, and hepatic encephalopathy. Additionally, he specializes in diagnosing and managing pancreatic and biliary disorders, inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Dr Jose is an active participant in numerous notable conferences and presentations. He has delivered oral presentations at the YIF and Free Paper Forum in the APDW KDDW at Seoul, South Korea, and presented an Oral Presidential Poster at the Indian Society of Gastroenterology National Conference in Kochi. His poster presentations include those at APASL in New Delhi, the IBD Conference in New Delhi where he received an award for his poster, the Indian Society of Gastroenterology Kerala Chapter in Kerala, and INASL in New Delhi.

He is skilled in performing a wide range of endoscopic procedures with precision and effectiveness, including upper GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, and side-viewing endoscopy. Dr Jose has extensive experience in employing advanced endoscopic techniques to address complex medical conditions, being proficient in procedures such as Endoscopic Variceal Ligation (Banding), Endoscopic Sclerotherapy (EST), glue injection, hemostatic clip application, and polypectomy.
