Dr Afthab completed her MBBS from Manipal College of Medical Sciences affiliated to Kathmandu University of Nepal.
He worked as an intern house officer in Surgery and medicine and then at a GP Cardiology and coronary care unit. Post this he worked as a GP in Paediatrics & then later as a GP Medical Officer. He has worked in multiple healthcare centres of repute. He was an active healthcare member during a Dengu Crisis in his location.
His main areas of interest are Paediatrics and General Medicine. He is fluent in English, Tamil & Sinhala and can fairly speak Hindi & Malayalam.
